We invite applications for two postdoc positions in optics in our institute.

Deadline for receipt of applications: May 1, 2026.

The candidate will work in the newly created Laboratory of Material Science, Laser, and Nanotechnology under the supervision of Prof. Rashid Ganeev. The members of our laboratory work on the applications of lasers for material science, nonlinear optics, and nanotechnologies. The studies will include the laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy, high-order harmonic generation in laser-induced plasmas, gases, and solids, low-order nonlinear optical characterization of quantum dots, thin films, and other materials.

Academic Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • PhD in Physics with a strong grasp on Optics and Lasers.
  • Demonstrated record of research activity.
  • Strong experimental skill with a background in some of the following subjects: Lasers,
  • Nonlinear Optics, Nanostructuring, Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy, High-order
  • Harmonic Generation.
  • Programming skill.

It should contain the research statement, briefly describing your experience with some of the above-mentioned research topics and full contact information, year of conclusion of your PhD degree, and supervision.
  2. PhD diploma.
  3. A research project (up to 3 pages) related to the above-mentioned research topics.
  4. List of publications.
  5. Copy of your CV.
  6. Two reference letters to be directly sent to r.ganeev@newuu.uz before the deadline.

The selection may also require an interview.
