About this position
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics to work on research in Probability Theory. The probability group at the University of Cambridge includes Professors Jason Miller, James Norris, Pierre-Francois Rodriguez, Sourav Sarkar, Perla Sousi, and Wendelin Werner. The position will be supported by the ERC grants held by Professors Jason Miller and Pierre-François Rodriguez. The positions come with generous travel funding.
The role involves conducting original research in mathematics, developing individual and collaborative research objectives, proposals and projects, and disseminating research findings through presentations and publications. You will plan and manage your own research activities, contribute to collaborative projects and funding proposals, maintain and develop your specialist knowledge, and communicate complex technical material. You will also be expected to build internal and external networks and contribute to the wider mathematical community. The role may additionally involve supporting student research and project supervision, providing limited instruction, and planning and delivering research seminars.
The successful candidate will have (or expect to be soon awarded) a PhD in mathematics and experience in research in Probability Theory.
Informal inquiries can be made by contacting either Professor Jason Miller at jpmiller@statslab.cam.ac.uk or Professor Pierre-François Rodriguez at pfr26@cam.ac.uk.
