Three questions to answer first
Most first emails to professors are written the same way, and most of them go unanswered. Before you write yours, make sure you can answer these three.
An advertised, funded position, or a scholarship you will bring with you. Without one of these, even an interested professor usually cannot say yes.
Name something specific from their recent work and connect it to something you have actually done.
A short email with a clear ask — and your CV attached — is far easier to answer than a long one.
