Your tasks

The successful candidate will join a dynamic research lab (www.eming.uni-koeln.de) and will participate in the analysis of molecular mechanisms regulating skin injury, repair and homeostasis. In the particular project we are interested to understand how immune cells sense tissue damage, control tissue growth and differentiation, and which are the signals that lead to deregulation of these processes during inflammatory skin diseases, tissue fibrosis or cancer. Please see also further literature (Eming et al., Science 356:1026-1030, 2017; Knipper et al., Immunity 43:803-16, 2015; Willenborg et al., Blood 120:613-625, 2012; Lucas et al., J Immunol 184:3964-77, 2010).

Your profile

Applications are invited from candidates who recently obtained their Diploma/Masters degree. The applicant should have a strong background in molecular biology and enthusiasm to study basic mechanisms of disease processes. The candidate will be actively involved in mouse work and previous experience is desirable, but not mandatory.
