Your Responsibilities
- Participate in research in the field of aging and cell death, with a particular focus on polyamine metabolism in connection with autophagy induction and hypusination in various eukaryotic model organisms, within the research group of Univ.-Prof. Dr. Frank Madeo
- Preparation of a relevant doctoral thesis in the field
- Collaboration with established research groups and core facilities at the Institute of Molecular Biosciences, as well as with the field of excellence "BioHealth"
- teach own autononmous coures and participate in the teaching and examination activitis of the institute, as well as co-supervision of students
- Cooperation on organizational and administrative tasks as well as evaluation measures
Your Profile
- Completed diploma or master’s degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, or biology with a focus on aging and cell death, preferably using mouse models and human cell culture
- Eligible as a graduate student at the University of Graz (Austria)': https://doctorate.uni-graz.at/en/study-service/admission/
- Practical experience with fundamental molecular biology techniques
- Practical and theoretical knowledge in the research area of polyamine metabolism
- Practical and theoretical knowledge in the research area of autophagy (desirable)
- Didactic aptitude in the fields of molecular biology, microbiology, and/or cell biology (desirable)
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken
- Knowledge of German (desirable)
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility
- Team spirit and strong motivation to address scientific questions in the field of molecular metabolism using an interdisciplinary research approach
- Enthusiasm for teaching and supervising students
- Reliability

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 52.865,40 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
