Who we are:

The professorship deals with the planning and analysis of processes in the health sector. The modeling, analysis, and optimization of questions related to Healthcare Management Science using quantitative methods of Operations Research, Management Science, and Analytics is at the forefront of our scientific activity. At the professorship, you will find an interdisciplinary and very well-equipped work environment in a young team with international visibility.

We seek:

In the Faculty III: School of Economic Disciplines, BWL – Management Science, we are looking for a researcher as of the 01.01.2027 at the following conditions:

  • 75% = 29,87 hours
  • Pay grade 13 TV-L
  • limited until 31.12.29

Your tasks:

  • Participation in the externally funded project “BASHWork” (Physician scheduling subject to behavioral aspects)

  • Dissemination of research results (e.g., journal publications, conference presentation, etc.)
  • Support in research, teaching, and transfer

  • Active participation in the professorship’s administrative tasks

  • Teaching duties: initially 1semester hours per week

Your profile:

  • Above-average academic degree (Master’s or equivalent) in business with a quantitative focus

  • Relevant experience with the use of optimization/simulation software (CPLEX, AnyLogic, etc.) and the implementation of algorithms in a higher-level programming language (C++, JAVA, Python, etc.)

  • Enjoyment and commitment to research, teaching, and transfer

  • Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration with a focus on health

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English

  • Desired: Excellent command of written and spoken German

  • Desired: Major in health sciences
