Refund & Payment Policy
Last updated: August 2026
This policy explains how we charge, when payment is due, and when a refund is and is not available. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
1. Fees
The fee for your programme is agreed with you before you enrol and is stated in writing on your invoice. There are no hidden charges and no separate registration fee.
Emerging Scholars Council is not registered for GST in India. Invoices are issued without GST and are not tax invoices for input-credit purposes.
2. Currency and Exchange Rate
Prices shown on this website are quoted in euro for reference. You pay in your own local currency โ most of our students are in India and pay in Indian rupees by UPI.
Where a conversion is needed, we use the prevailing published exchange rate on the date your invoice is issued, and the converted amount is stated on the invoice. Any bank charges, card fees or currency spread applied by your own bank or payment provider are yours to bear.
3. Instalments
A programme fee may be split into a maximum of two instalments.
The first instalment is due before mentorship begins.
The second instalment falls due only when you receive an admission offer. If you do not receive an offer, the second instalment never becomes payable and we will not invoice you for it.
4. When Mentorship Begins
Mentorship begins once your first instalment has cleared and your first session has been scheduled. From that point mentor time is committed to you.
5. Refunds
Once mentorship has commenced, fees are non-refundable. Mentor time is committed from the first session and reviewed materials are delivered immediately, so the work cannot be returned. This applies whether or not you ultimately receive an offer, and whether or not you continue to participate.
If you have paid but no session has taken place and you have received no reviewed materials, contact us within 14 days of payment and we will refund you in full.
6. Right of Withdrawal โ Consumers in the EU and UK
If you are a consumer resident in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have a statutory right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days of it being formed, without giving a reason.
If you ask us to begin mentorship during that 14-day period and we do so, you remain liable for the value of what has already been delivered up to the moment you withdraw. If the service has been fully performed within that period at your express request, the right to withdraw no longer applies.
To withdraw, email info@emergingscholarscouncil.com with your name and invoice number. We will refund any amount due within 14 days of receiving your notice, using the same payment method you used, at no charge to you.
7. If We Cancel
If ESC ends your programme for a reason within our control before the mentorship has been delivered, we will refund the undelivered portion of your fee on a pro-rata basis.
This does not apply where we end a programme because of a breach of clause 9 of our Terms of Service.
8. Failed or Duplicate Payments
If a payment fails, is duplicated, or is sent to the wrong account, email us and we will resolve it. Duplicate payments are refunded in full.
9. Payment Disputes
If you are unhappy with your programme, please contact us first โ most issues are resolved quickly. Raising a chargeback or payment dispute before contacting us makes the problem harder for both of us to solve.
