Your Responsibilities

  • Writing a dissertation at the University of Graz in the area Theoretical Chemistry
  • Independent research and publication activity in the field of theoretical/computational chemistry
  • (Joint) development of software programmes in theoretical chemistry
  • Development of density functionals
  • Development of embedding methods for molecular solids
  • Independent teaching of courses and participation in teaching and examination tasks of the institute
  • Supervision of students
  • Participation in organizational and administrative tasks as well as in evaluation measures

Your Profile

  • Completed master’s degree in Chemistry or Physics
  • Extensive knowledge of Theoretical Chemistry
  • Programming skills in relevant programming languages and version control systems such as Git
  • Experience in using software calculating periodic boundary conditions
  • Proficiency in using quantum chemistry software capable of simulating molecules
  • Ideally, prior experience with embedding methods or molecular crystals
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken German and English
  • Scientific curiosity and interest in working on current research questions
  • Independent working style and high level of initiative
  • Strong teamwork and organizational skills

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 52.865,40 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
