Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow (several posts) in the Division of Public Health Laboratory Sciences (PHLS) of the School of Public Health (Ref.: 537047), to commence as soon as possible for a one-year or two-year temporary term contract, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in biological/medical sciences, virology or a related discipline. Outstanding and self-motivated candidates with a proven research track record are encouraged to apply. Experience in cell biology, immunology, animal handling, virology or microbial pathogens handling in BSL-2/3 laboratories would be an advantage.
The appointees will conduct independent and collaborative research on influenza and other emerging infectious viruses under the supervision of Prof. Michael C.W. Chan and Prof. Kenrie P.Y. Hui.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
