Dr Redfield’s research program focuses on heart failure (HF) with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) and includes mechanistic and therapeutic studies in humans and large and small animal models of HFpEF and HF related pulmonary hypertension. Mechanistic studies include hemodynamics, cardiac and pulmonary histology and cardiac and pulmonary tissue discovery omics (RNA, proteomics, metabolomics, spatial omics and bioinformatics) from humans and animal models.

Key Responsibilities of this position include:

Design and conduct experiments, including sample preparation, to characterize the molecular and metabolic signatures of large-animal and human HFpEF using multi-omics approaches.

Perform bioinformatics analyses of sequencing datasets, including data processing, quality control, integration, and biological interpretation.

Integrate multi-omics findings with histological, functional, and clinical phenotypes of large-animal models and human HFpEF subjects to elucidate disease mechanisms.

Qualifications

M.D. Ph.D. or Ph.D. in a relevant subject (cardiovascular medicine, physiology, molecular biology, etc.);

Omics data acquisition and analysis (any of the following: RNA-seq, proteomics, spatial omics, metabolomics);

Strong record of productivity and good publication record in peer-reviewed journals;

Strong personal skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills – ability to work independently and as part of a team;
