About this position

The Feske Lab at New York University (NYU) is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our team. Our laboratory investigates how lymphocyte function is regulated by ion channels and transporters (ICTs) and their downstream signaling pathways. This work includes identifying and characterizing ICTs in T and B cells, uncovering the molecular mechanisms by which these ICTs control cell signaling, metabolism, and gene expression, and defining their physiological roles in immune responses to infection, autoimmunity, and antitumor immunity.

In addition to CRAC calcium channels (formed by ORAI and STIM proteins), we study a range of novel ICTs that influence the function of distinct T and B cell subsets and shape their associated immune responses. Our research program integrates molecular and cell biology with cutting-edge omics, imaging, bioinformatics, electrophysiology, and animal models of immunity in health and disease.

Our work has been published in leading journals, including Nature, Immunity, Nature Immunology, Science Immunology, Cell Metabolism, Nature Communications, Journal of Experimental Medicine, Journal of Clinical Investigation, PNAS, and New England Journal of Medicine.

Available project(s):

  • Several projects are available to investigate the mechanisms by which novel ICTs regulate immune metabolism, signaling, and gene expression in T and B cells, and how these ICTs shape immune responses to infection and autoimmunity.

Requirements:

  • Recent Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in immunology, physiology, or a related field
  • Strong background in molecular biology, cell biology, and immunology
  • Preferred: expertise in immune cell signaling and/or metabolism
  • Strong interest in studying ICTs and ionic signaling
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a collaborative lab environment
  • Flexibility, curiosity, and enthusiasm for participating in a dynamic, internationally oriented research program
