About this position
We are looking for a highly motivated Postdoctoral researcher (W/M) to join our laboratory at EPFL (Lausanne, Switzerland) to work on an ERC funded project aiming to reverse-engineer insect limb motor control for bioinspired robotics.
The main focus of this project is how neural circuits in the motor system of the fly, Drosophila melanogaster, orchestrate limb movements and autonomous behavior in complex environments. Specifically, we are looking for Postdoctoral researchers to perform microscopy-based neural recordings in behaving flies, computational analysis, and, if interested, neuromechanical simulations and robotics. Candidates from outside the field of neuroscience are encouraged to apply, but must be curious, persistent, and passionate to delve into the mysteries of the brain!
The contract features a competitive salary in a highly stimulating research environment at EPFL, an English-speaking University embedded in the French-speaking region of Switzerland on the shores of Lake Geneva, facing the Swiss and French alps. Living standards and the quality of life are among the highest in the world.
If you are interested, please apply via the EPFL careers website with (i) A brief cover letter outlining your research interests and why you want to join the lab (pdf, up to 1 page) and in one PDF (ii) A CV with list of publications and the contact information for three reference letter writers.
For further information, please contact (kathryn.aitkenmaulaz@epfl.ch)
We look forward to hearing from you!
