DEPARTMENT OF BIOLOGY
Research Assistant / Research Associate (26270166)
Responsibilities:
The appointee will work under the supervision of Prof. Yiji Xia on research projects relating to the mechanisms and functions of RNA modifications and gene regulation in eukaryotic and prokaryotic organisms. Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification preferably in biology, bioinformatics, or a related discipline;
- For the research associate position, applicants are expected to have a strong publication record, and preferred qualifications include research training in RNA biology, biochemistry/protein biochemistry, mRNA translational control, epigenetic regulation, plant or microbial molecular biology, cancer biology, or genome-wide analysis/bioinformatics;
- Ability to work independently, self-motivated and well organized; and
- Good command of both written and spoken English.
The Initial appointments will be offered on a fixed term contract of 6-12 months. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
