About this position
We are seeking a motivated and collaborative individual to join our team as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate in NMR Spectroscopy. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop and apply novel high resolution NMR techniques for structure elucidation, funded by the EPSRC grant “Fulfilling the promise of J-spectroscopy”. The research will be carried out in the NMR methodology research group of Professor Gareth Morris, Professor Mathias Nilsson, and Dr Ralph Adams, a lively international group of about twenty researchers.
You will be responsible for:
- Development and implementation of novel data processing algorithms
- Development and implementation of novel pulse sequences
- Acquisition of high quality NMR data
- Interaction with other research groups, learning new techniques where necessary
- Close involvement and good communication/teamwork with other members of the group working on similar projects

Essential Criteria
- Hold, or be about to obtain, a PhD or equivalent in NMR spectroscopy or a related field
- Possess a strong, proven track record in modern NMR techniques
Desirable Criteria
- Have proven skills in computer programming, with experience in as many as possible of the following areas: Python, Topspin, Mathematica, Matlab, C/C++ and Unix
- Have experience with multidimensional NMR spectroscopy
- Have previous experience in the development of NMR methods
- Have experience in the maintenance and/or construction of NMR equipment and peripherals
