About this position

At the University of Göttingen -Public Law Foundation-, Institut für Röntgenphysik, there are 2 positions as

Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L/75%

to be filled. Starting date is as soon as possible. The position is limited for 3 years.

The openings target 3D Biomedical Imaging by X-Ray Phase Contrast Tomography, exploiting partially coherent X-ray radiation both at synchrotron and laboratory µCT sources. The focus can be either on the algorithmic design including phase retrieval, X-ray optical physics, sample preparation, instrumentation, and/or application benchmarks in collaboration with our medical partners.

As a successful candidate you should hold a very good Master’s degree (or equivalent) in physics or in a closely related field, and show high potential and motivation for interdisciplinary research. Knowledge and experience in X-ray and medical physics, computational and numerical skills, or experience in laboratory instrumentation/experiment is highly appreciated, but not expected at the start. The exact focus and work plan will be discussed in an interview and will depend on your profile, interest, aptitude, seeking a match to the opportunities and needs of our collaborative projects and third party funding sources.

If you have any questions, please contact Prof. Dr. Tim Salditt.

Some positions — especially in Germany, Austria and Switzerland — are filled by writing directly to the supervisor rather than through an online form. These addresses were taken from the advert text, so check them against the official listing before you write.

A cold email to a supervisor is the highest-leverage thing you can send — and the easiest to get wrong. Ask us to look at yours before you hit send.
