The research group

• We are fascinated by glycolurils, the urea-based heterocycles, for the ability to serve as building blocks of macrocyclic compounds with the potential to encapsulate a variety of small molecules and ions. The synthesis and supramolecular properties of these receptors are the major research topics of our group led by Prof. Vladimír Šindelář. For further information about the research group see group webpage www.supramolecular.sci.muni.cz 

Job description

• The main responsibilities of the position will include the synthesis of bambusuril-derived macrocycles and the investigation of their supramolecular properties, with a particular focus on anion binding. A background in synthetic organic chemistry and supramolecular chemistry is preferred.

Skills and Qualifications

• MSc. or a corresponding degree from a university in Organic chemistry or related subjects
• Good communication skills and proficiency in English
