Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow (PDF) in the Sau Po Centre on Ageing within the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.: 536816) to commence as early as possible in October 2026, on a one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.
The Sau Po Centre on Ageing at HKU is dedicated to advancing research in the field of ageing and caregiving. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for older adults through innovative research and community engagement.
Applicants for Post-doctoral Fellow should possess a PhD degree or equivalent in Social Science, Psychology, Public Health or other related disciplines with at least 2 years of post-bachelor’s work experience. Previous work experience in big data analysis, managing large databases of research projects relating to family caregivers of older adults and/or cost effectiveness evaluation, and with related track records of academic publication is advantageous. They should have a good command of written and spoken Chinese (fluency in Cantonese is required) and English, advanced knowledge and experience with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, Stata) and MS Office applications (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.), and good interpersonal and organizational skills.
The applicants will work in a multidisciplinary team with local and international experts to conduct high-impact research related to family caregivers of older adults, and will be responsible for data management, advanced data analysis, mentoring junior research staff, liaison with project partners and collaborators, and performing other duties as assigned. Publication opportunities and professional development support are available.
