Postdoctoral Research Associate

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join a Pancreatic Cancer UK funded project at the Barts Cancer Institute (BCI), Queen Mary University of London. The project focuses on developing novel urine-based phosphoproteomic biomarkers for the early detection and personalised management of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC).

About You
The successful candidate will be completing or will already hold a PhD in relevant field. You will have experience in mass spectrometry-based proteomics and/or phosphoproteomics, including protein extraction, phosphopeptide enrichment, LC-MS/MS workflows, and analysis of proteomics datasets using appropriate bioinformatic and statistical tools. You should have a strong interest in translational cancer research and knowledge of cancer signalling pathways, particularly kinase signalling and phosphorylation biology. Experience working with human biological samples, including urine, plasma or tissue, is essential. Experience with software and analysis tools such as R, Mascot, DIA-NN, or related platforms would be advantageous.

The Barts Cancer Institute (BCI) is a Cancer Research UK Centre of Excellence whose work aims to transform the lives of those with and at risk of cancer through innovative research in the laboratory, in patients and in populations. It is one of six institutes within The Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry (FMD) BCI is internationally renowned in many areas of cancer research and it combines ground-breaking basic research with the expertise of clinicians and clinician scientists from the Centre for Experimental Cancer Medicine and the Barts NHS Trust to achieve improvements in cancer patient care. BCI is also a partner in the CRUK City of London Major Centre (together with UCL, Kings and the Francis Crick Institute) which is a Centre of Excellence in Biotherapeutics.
