Postdoctoral Research Associate

About the Role
The newly established Sridharan Lab is seeking a talented and motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to investigate how biomolecular condensates regulate protein function and contribute to cancer development and therapeutic response.

This position is funded by an MRC Career Development Award and aims to uncover how changes in the biomolecular condensation of RNA-binding proteins drive tumour growth by integrating quantitative proteomics, cell biology and functional genomics approaches. The successful candidate will identify dysregulated condensate proteins using quantitative proteomics and investigate their biological significance through functional screening (shRNA and CRISPR), supported by biochemical and cell biology analyses.

Based within the Brain Tumour Research Centre of Excellence, the postholder will have access to state-of-the-art proteomics, genomics and stem cell technologies. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to an emerging area of biomedical research with strong translational potential.

About You
The ideal applicant is a highly motivated and creative scientist who is passionate about discovery-driven research and enjoys working in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment. We welcome candidates with expertise in biochemistry, proteomics, cell biology or related disciplines who are excited to investigate fundamental questions at the interface of biomolecular condensation and cancer biology.

You will hold (or be close to obtaining) a PhD in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Cancer Biology, Proteomics, or a related discipline.

About the School/Department/Institute/Project
The Blizard Institute was established in 2003, one of six Institutes within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, QMUL. The Institute comprises approximately 350 staff based in four academic Centres and one Public Engagement Centre and supports a combined total of c750 postgraduate research and taught students. The Institute aims to deliver excellence in all aspects of research, teaching and clinical service.
