About the role:

Do you have epidemiological experience and wish to work on a European project funded by the Innovate UK as part of the Horizon Europe? The project, named ENDOMIX, aims to investigate the immune-mediated health effect of endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs), such as Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, in the environment.

What you would be doing:;

You will

  • Undertake a systematic review of the mechanistic literature (experimental, in vitro, in vivo, human) on the immunological effects of endocrine disrupting chemicals.
  • Assess the quality and strength of evidence, using appropriate tools.
  • Assist with the interpretation of the evidence, comparing epidemiological effects with mechanistic data, specifically on immunological impairment including auto-immune diseases.
  • Contribute to overall evaluations of the totality of evidence on immune effects of endocrine disruptors, including causality

What we are looking for:

  • MSc or PhD in Biomedical Science or equivalent.
  • Experience in Epidemiology analysis
  • Experience of Environmental Epidemiology or toxicology
  • Experience of conducting systemic reviews

Please note that this is a PhD level role but candidates who have not yet been officially awarded will be appointed as a Research Assistant.

This is a full-time post (35 hours per week).

This role is for a fixed-term contract for 12 months.
