Your future position will be at the Institute for Sports and Human Movement Science in the Department of Sports Medicine, Exercise Physiology and Prevention.

Your personal sphere of play:

There are collaborations with the Austrian Institute for Sports Medicine (ÖISM) and the Medical University of Vienna (MUW), through which the ÖISM acts as a research centre for MedUni Vienna and which also enables rotations with various departments at MedUni Vienna.

Our institute is equipped with modern devices for diagnostic testing in sports medicine, internal medicine, cardiology and sports science (including resting ECG, 3-channel and 12-channel long-term ECG, long-term blood pressure measurement, spirometry, body plethysmography, stress ECG, 2D and 3D echocardiography with scientific workstation, dynamic stress echocardiography, bicycle, treadmill and rowing ergometry, lactate and mobile blood gas analysis, spiroergometry, strength diagnostics and equipment for medical training therapy).

Duration of employment: for the duration of the position holder's absence at first until 31th July 2027.

Your future tasks:

  • You will actively participate in research, teaching, and administration, which means:
  • You will participate in research projects and scientific studies in the fields of exercise physiology and sports medicine.
  • You will independently hold courses in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement.
  • You will supervise your students in your subject areas.
  • You will perform administrative tasks related to research and teaching.
  • You will publish internationally and give presentations.
  • You will submit project proposals and secure external funding.
  • You will participate in evaluation processes and quality assurance activities

This is part of your personality:

  • PhD degree in the field of sports science or a completed degree in human medicine with completed dissertation or PhD degree
  • Experience in the application of quantitative research methods and in managing project staff
  • Basic knowledge of examination and testing procedures in exercise physiology and sports medicine
  • Teaching skills/experience with e-learning
  • IT skills (Office package)
  • Knowledge of German at the C2 level and English at level C1 level is desirable
  • Team player with strong social and communication skills
