Your Responsibilities

  • Preparing and writing a doctoral dissertation in the field of Mathematics Education
  • Contributing to research activities of the Mathematics Education Working Group
  • Participating in national and international research projects, including projects on multimodal and linguistic aspects of teaching and learning mathematics, embodiment in mathematics, and inclusive mathematics education
  • Teaching and examining courses in mathematics education or mathematics in the teacher training program (on average, one hour teaching per week during the semester)
  • Contributing to research projects and school laboratory activities at the Teacher Education Centre for Science and Mathematics Education (Dinama)
  • Supporting the acquisition of third-party funding
  • Assisting in the supervision of Bachelor's theses
  • Contributing to departmental administration and academic self-governance

Your Profile

  • Completed Diploma or Master's degree in Mathematics Education or Mathematics 
  • Excellent mathematical content knowledge
  • Knowledge of basic methods of mathematics education research (desirable)
  • Excellent written and spoken German
  • Good to very good written and spoken English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Creativity and open mindset
  • Strong interest in research in Mathematics Education, particularly in the areas of diversity (including diversity more broadly, sensory diversity, and neurodiversity) as well as mathematical thinking and learning processes
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility for one's own work
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Strong organizational and teamwork skills
  • Reliability, strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong personal commitment to academic excellence

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 52.865,40 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
